Most fitness advice is written for people who already have muscle. It tells you to bulk for months, cut for weeks, and post the photo.
I am not that person. I sit at a desk for eight or nine hours, I go home to a family and a house, and I sleep when I can. My body is what people call skinny fat: thin in a shirt, soft without it.
What did not work
A bulk put new fat on top of the fat I already had. A cut took away some of the little muscle I had. Each season ended close to where it began, and I liked food a little less every time.
What I do now
Three habits, kept for a long time.
- Train. Lift a few times a week and try to do a little more than last time.
- Eat. Enough protein every day, and calories a little below what I burn.
- Rest. Sleep like it matters, walk more, and measure my body instead of judging it in the mirror.
It is slower than a bulk or a cut. Slow is the point: a result you can hold is the only one worth having.
What is here
Perdura is where I keep those three habits in one place. Today it logs your training and tells you what to do next time, follows your weight trend, and sets calorie and protein targets by phase. This blog is where I will write about what I learn while using it.
