Perdura makes a few promises about how it treats you. Each one is something you can check, in Perdura or in the record below. Where Perdura does not fully meet one yet, this page says so.
Free stays free
Nothing that is part of Free will ever move to Premium. Free can gain things and so can Premium, but what Free has stays in Free. The record below lists every change to the two plans with its date, so you can hold us to it.
What Free and Premium hold today
These are the lists the pricing page shows, from the one file every page reads them from. Free costs nothing. Premium is $8.99 a month or $49 a year, with 7 days free on a first yearly subscription.

- Weight tracking with an average of your last 7 weigh-ins

- Up to 3 routines (the Full Body template or your own)
- A full download of everything you log

Every change to the plans
Newest first, from 8 August 2026, when Free and Premium began. Rewording that changed nothing for anyone is left out. Perdura's tests fail when the plans change without this record noticing.
- Free. Barcode scanning in Perdura for Android moved from Premium to Free.
- Free. Free keeps up to 3 routines, up from 1. A member whose Premium ended keeps every routine they had.
- Premium. The list said unlimited routines. Premium has always held up to 14, and the list now says so. Nothing changed for anyone.
- Premium. The list now names three things Premium already had: changing your calorie, protein, carbs and fat targets, Ask Perdura logging and copying food for you, and personal API keys.
- Free. The food diary moves from Premium to Free: log meal by meal from more than 13,000 everyday foods or your own, and see each day's calories, protein, carbs and fat against your targets.
- Premium. The list now names what Premium adds to the diary (packaged foods by brand or barcode, nutrients beyond the macros, usual and saved meals, copying whole days, nutrition trends), choosing how your targets work across the week, and the meal planner, recipes and grocery lists.
- Free. Free shows today's calorie and protein target on Today.
- Price. Premium monthly goes from $6.99 to $8.99 for new subscribers. Anyone already paying $6.99 a month keeps that price. Yearly stays $49.
- Premium. Premium adds a weekly review of your lifts and habits, and the food diary's search grows to more than 13,000 foods, with search by brand.
- Price. Premium yearly comes with 7 days free on a first subscription.
- Free. Free adds sleep and walk check-ins.
- Premium. Premium adds a food diary (about 8,000 foods, meal by meal, and your own foods) and a 3D body drawn from your height, weight and tape measurements.
- Free. Free and Premium begin. Free: workout logging that tells you what to lift next time, weight tracking with a 7-day average, one routine (the Full Body template or your own), and a download of everything you log. Until this day, while Perdura was being built, every account had Premium, and the accounts that existed then kept it.
- Premium. Premium: everything in Free, plus charts of fat and muscle from your scans and a strength index, daily calorie and protein targets that follow your plan's phases, body scans and tape measurements, more routines and templates, read-only sharing for your coach, and a CSV of your sets.
- Price. $6.99 a month or $49 a year.
What goes to the AI
Ask Perdura answers most questions itself, in your browser. Only when it has no answer and you choose to ask the AI does anything go to Anthropic, whose Claude models write the answer. This is everything a question can carry:
Every AI answer
- The words of your question (2 to 200 characters).
- The name of the page you asked from, with Perdura's one-line description of that page.
- When you ask about a number or an exercise, its name, never its value.
- Perdura's own reference text about how Perdura works, the same for everyone.
A request to log or copy food, or to build a routine
- The words of your request, with the foods and amounts you name.
- Today's date and its day of the week.
- The language of your screen.
- Perdura's own instructions for turning a request into a change, the same for everyone.
With your consent, only when the question needs it
- Today's calorie, protein, carbs and fat targets, and whether today is a training or a rest day (with Premium).
- Your current phase and the day it ends.
- Your training days and the names of your routines.
- This week's counts: workouts done and, with Premium, protein days and days with food logged.
Never sent: your email, name or account number, your weight, scans and measurements, your food entries, your workouts themselves, your sleep, watch data or notes.
AI answers ask first until you choose: in Settings › Preferences you can turn them on or off, and stop them using your plan. Perdura's tests compare this list with the requests the code builds. What Anthropic does with what it receives is in the Privacy Policy.
No streaks, no red, nothing resets
Perdura is built so that a missed day costs you nothing. These are the rules.
- No streaks. Perdura never counts days in a row for you to keep alive. Progress keeps a weekly record instead: each of the last eight weeks is filled when you reached your weekly targets and left open when not, and a missed week leaves the others as they were.
- No login counters. Perdura never shows you a count of your visits or of the days you were away, and sends no emails or notifications to bring you back. After a break, Today says the date of your last entry and that your routines are where you left them.
- No red for your own numbers. A day over its calories, a week short of its targets or a weight that went up is a number, not a fault. Short of a target is shown plainly, and reaching it is marked in colour. Red is kept for what asks you to act: an error, or a button that deletes.
- Nothing resets. A missed day or week takes nothing away. Every workout, weigh-in and logged day stays in your record, and a missed workout waits as your next one, so nothing is skipped in the rotation.
Where Perdura does not fully meet these yet: when you ask Ask Perdura what to focus on, one sentence can say that every planned workout was done three or more weeks running. It counts only whole weeks, shows only from three, and after a week with a workout not done it stops showing, with nothing said about it. It is the one count of weeks in a row in Perdura.
Why
Based on research into how people react to fitness apps. In a 2025 study of posts on X about five popular fitness apps, researchers from Loughborough University, University College London and the University of Westminster found people describing shame about what they ate, irritation at reminders to log, and disappointment at losing a long logging streak to one missed day, and some stopped logging altogether. The study looked only at negative posts, so it cannot say how common this is. In a 2023 series of seven studies, people who saw a broken streak in their log did less of the activity afterwards than people who saw it unbroken, even with the same amount done.
